A new, youthful current affairs radio talk show starts today, Sunday 28th April from 6pm til 9pm on Colourful Radio, promising fresh R&B, UK Hip-Hop and popular music served with a lively take on the news. The show called “Blackcurrant [on]  Sunday” will have live chat and caller discussion that will tackle the items dominating the mainstream and independent news with younger and emerging voices from politics, the arts, activism, journalism and social enterprise.
Blackcurrant [on] Sunday is produced by Public: the youth-led crowd sourcing platform and creative agency. The production and project is led by the co-founder of Haringey Young People Empowered and former Guardian “Reading the Riots” researcher Symeon Brown who hopes that it will provide something different and enjoyable for his peer group. The first show will be hosted by activist and PhD researcher,  Adam Elliot-Cooper and The Voice Newspaper journalist, Elizabeth Pears. Adam [pictured] said
“Blackcurrant Sunday brings a light-hearted end to the weekend, mixing news, opinion and special guests to chat about what London’s colourful youth are thinking about on road, about town and around the globe.”
They will be discussing the legacy of Britain’s first female Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher and the generation of people born during her administration (from 1979 to 1990). Did Thatcher’s legacy usher a period of boom or doom for those who were born into the new world that she shaped with her economic and political reforms?
Tune in and call in to get involved in the live discussion from 6pm by going on to ColourfulRadio.com
