The Multicultural Politic recently spoke to Dr Hakim Adi from the University of Chichester about The Scramble for Africa in the late 19th century, the colonial period, anti-colonial struggles, the Arab Spring and the recent invasions of Mali and Libya.
Dr Adi argues these recent invasions are part of a new scramble for African resources, markets, and geo-political control.

Dr Hakim Adi  received his PhD from SOAS, University of London. He is a founding member of the Black and Asian Studies Association, which he chaired for several years, and he is currently Reader in the history of Africa and the African diaspora at the University of Chichester, West Sussex.
