The Multicultural Politic recently spoke to Dr Hakim Adi from the University of Chichester about The Scramble for Africa in the late 19th century, the colonial period, anti-colonial struggles, the Arab Spring and the recent invasions of Mali and Libya.
Dr Adi argues these recent invasions are part of a new scramble for African resources, markets, and geo-political control.
Part 2 of our interview you can watch below, in which Dr Adi speaks about the significance of recent invasions into Mali, Libya, the role of China on the continent, and the increasing militarisation of the region, particularly in West Africa.
Watch part 1 here, and part 3 will be on the blog next week.
