On Wednesday 26th March,  Kimberlé W. Crenshaw, the black woman who coined the term “Intersectionality” and professor of law at University College of Los Angeles and Columbia, gave a lecture entitled “Justice Rising: moving intersectionally in the age of post-everything”

She isn’t as insane as most of the people who have followed in her wake, but I find it odd that you refer to her as “the black woman”. Are you implying that her ethnicity or sex confers some sort of special value to her opinions?
I always thought that ultimately the left was about seeing everyone as people – rational subjects united by a common humanity, but now it seems we’re going backwards and thinking about people as just members of certain groups again.
